Check your u-joints for sure, how long has it been since you greased them. Also check you fluid level in your swivels.

I have had the truck for about 5k miles I have never serviced the U joints. I am thinking that mabe the try weather and sand plus the placement of them by the cats might have dried them up. I know the shop I took it to get checked out added grease to the swivels. Do I need a grease gun to do the U joints??  my friend has one and do I need any type of special grease.

Borrow your friend grease gun and be careful to not over fill the u-joints. If you pop the grease seals there goes the u-joints.

If it wee the CV's, you would normally hear it more when making a sharp turn, do you hear anything when turning?
