If you bought a set of wheels from a classic, no they won't fit either a D2 or D3.
Why are you wanting to put a set of 18's on your D2, most people want to get rid of them cause 18" tires cost more, wear out faster and aren't any good off the road because of the side walls.

I was told by my local Land Rover enthusiast's shop who does all the work on my '03 Discovery se7 that I should ditch the stock 18" hurricane wheels for winter/offroad usage and go with 16"  from a '96 or newer Range Rover or a '99 Disco on. So I got a great deal on ebay for 4 wheels off of a '98 Range Rover. Just got back from my local tire company where they weren't so sure that these 16" wheels would clear the brake, rotor, etc. Any guidance or info on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, they said they will try and put the wheel on just to check for clearance, but couldn't today.

Thank you in advance.

wheels from a p38 will work on a d2 and vice versa.  wheels from newer rovers work with p38/d2 with new lugs and hubcentric rings. p38/d2 rims on newer rovers work after you bore out the hub on the wheel and get new lugs.

By newer rovers you mean LR3's and Range Rovers from the last few years? Also, are you saying that what I've described should be fine? Thanks.
