I'm thinking of replacing the rear panels which hold the lights on my 90 as they are badly corroded at the bottom. They appear to be rivetted on. Can anyone tell me if this is a particularly tricky job or offer any tips?

Pop riveted on in fact... easy to replace really, provided you've got a pop riveter and you're lucky enough to get all the rivets out without having to drill them all out - 10 to 1 at least one will spin in the hole if you have to drill ;)

When you say - corroded - is it white powder type aluminium oxide corrosion?  It's usually caused by electrolytic action where iron components and aluminium ones are in direct contact and water gets in.  If you use a smear of instant gasket everywhere aluminium and iron might come into contact, you'll seriously lower the risk of it happening again.

Cheers,
