I want to change the transmission fluid for my new-to-me 99 Range Rover.  Is there anything I should know before attempting it?

I plan to use AMSOIL because I hear it is the best.

Any thoughts out there in Roverville?

Doug to change your oil in the transmission is straight forward. The only thing you may need to get is a small
pump to refill the auto with due it not having a dipstick like the previous model.
You did not mention if you were going to change the filter also.
Anyways drain the fluid via the bottom plug and refill via the top plug facing the front of the vehicle.
The temperture must be under 80deg , fill it till fluid just starts to come out of the plug , then screw the plug in
just a few threads.
Then start the engine and top up until the fluid until it just starts to come out the fill plug.
Finish tighting the plug and the jobs done.
If you try to do it when its to hot you cannot get the correct amount of fluid due to expansion and the tranny may slip in corners or up steep grades.
