The standard mirror in my new (well, used acutally) 2004 Discovery seems too low for me. I'm 6'4" (and have a long torso) and love the headroom, but the stock auto dimming mirror has that long arm which causes the mirror to sit low and obstruct my vision pretty bad. I need to duck at every intersection to see cars on the right hand side.

Most cars I've owned or rented have a small linkage behind the mirror which allows someone to adjust the height of the mirror. The Discovery does not.

Any thoughts on options for replacing the mirror, removing the stock arm behind the mirror, etc.? I won't mind losing the autodimming or compass, but I'd rather not have something really cheap looking either.

Thanks so much for your help.

I can't say for certain on mirrors, but you may try Rovers North. If they don't have something, they may have some good ideas of where to look.

Visibility is the ONLY issue I have with my Disco. It seems like it has numerous blind spots (front posts, anything in back of the front windows, etc.). At 5'8", I still have occasional problems with the rearview.
