I'm running a TD5 at 3000-4500 metres above sea level in Ethiopia. I'm to the vehicle and the place and wonder if anyone knows if the altitude sensor and engine can cope with this elevation. It seems alot more gutless than the Tdi we run in the same place and I wonder if this is due to the increased computer sophistication in the TD5? Any ideas?

Your gonna lose 15%  horsepower ever 1000 ft. Iv'e heard of disconecting the battery for a while then reconnecting it so that the computer can sort of reset itself to the elevation. Don't know if it works for sure though as I have yet to try it.
