Low Horse Power! Quick Fix?

I own a 98 disco 1 and it has around 188 HP and 233 torque. The acceration is bad. Anything I can do to add about +20 HP to it? I'm buying a K&N air filter for it tomorrow hoping it will bring a few HP. Any opinions or comments will be great! Thanks!

Look in Modifications for Power Chip.
It adds 16 Hp and 23 ft lbs tq, by its self and with a cat back and intake it will be better.

But it will never be fast with out a bigger motor.

Stay away from a K&N, they can take out the MAF on your truck and it isn't worth it.

At your mileage, if you haven't done this yet, replace your 02 sensors, plugs and wires, using Magnacor 8mm wires. Then decarbon the engine and at least recover most of your lost horse power.

I have a 2000 LR Discovery with 90,000 miles.
I followed DiscoMike's advice and just did a huge fluid/lub/plugs/wires/sensor service.

I now have a fairly peppy 4000/5000 LB plus truck.

I did as per DiscoMike's list:

1 Oil filter , K&N 3001
1 Air filter
1 Transmission filter kit
6 Qts of engine oil
12 Qts of ATF
7 Qts of 80/90W gear oil
2 Qts of Brake fluid
2 Qts of synthetic Power steering fluid
2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive
1 Bottle of Lucas Transmission additive
1 Can of Spray Carb Spray
1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, Bosch Platinum Plus 4's 
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires
1 Serpentine belt
2 Bottles of Sea Foam 


I also took the time to have the: 
Brakes bled
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Flush the coolant system
Engine flush before changing the oil
Induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.


I am very happy with the new performance (for a 7 year old truck)

I have an 03 Disco with over 105k and I need to do EVERYTHING listed here plus, Brakes, .  (anyone in the Bay Area California care to help?  Id be more than willing to throw in a couple of cases of beer and some $$ for your time and help...)



Questions:

1. how the heck do I replace the plug wires?  do I have to remove everything above the engine to get to it?
2. what brand and weight do you recommend for engine oil?  is Mobile Synthetic 5w20 fine?
3. Brand and type of trans fluid?
4. Sea Foam what is that?  is it an engine flush?

Thanks and hope someone (crossing fingers) might be local and can help with this project...
