Hello everyone, I have a 00 disco II, and im having a hell of a time with some lights, the infamous ABS TC and the downhill thingy lol, it all started after the left rear caliper froze up. i took the truck to a local garage where they replaced the caliper and the left rear abs sensor but they couldnt clear the code's due to needing some special note book program. I took it to a dealer 2 hours away and they "diagnosed" it and cleared the codes and said " you have no issue they will not come back on" a week passes by with no problem and one day i start the truck up and Bam they are on again, so i turn the truck off and restarted it and the abs light was the only that stayed on, it turned its self off after about 20 yards or so. about 30 mins later i did a U turn and bamm i got the double ding and all tree light are on again !!!!!! so now that the background is covered i called the dealer and they state " most likely your Hub went bad and we can replace it for a meir 500 + labor". now i dont like the statement "Most Likely" when pertaining to 500 +, now i have seen in the forums before where thin brake pads have thrown a code is this true >? BTW this truck is for sale :)

Squeaky, dirty, thin, cheap. whatever. Lots of things can set off your abs. If you can find a local indy mechanic with an autologic scanner, they can re-set the codes. If you have a fault when you stop, the abs ecu will test the sensors for a certain distance, if it passes, it will turn off. Sounds like you have a sensor messed up, or just dirty. Call Atlantic British and they will tell you where the closest shop with an autologic scanner is. Need to get the codes read before you can tell what it is.... BTW....testbook is the diagnostic tool the dealer uses. Something like this has to be used to read abs codes.
