Wood dash kit

I really like the look of the wood in the LR3.  Has anybody bought or heard about the after market kits?  Are they cheap looking or poor quality?

The factory kit looks great when installed correctly, but it is definitely not cheap.

I've tried to find some aftermarket ones aswell, and other thant the factory ones, had some trouble finding them.  I'd be interested in suggestions aswell.

If you search Evil-Bay, you'll find an aftermarket supplied.  If you go to their site, they have many colors and diagrams.

I've never used or heard of them though.

Cheers!

All the aftermarket I have seen look cheap, because they are.

I was lucky enough with my LR3 to have the LR kit installed already, makes a huge difference in perception of the interior space... feels more like an RR. You can find them on ebay used from time to time and new, upwards of $500 new, but they don't look plastic, cheap or place so many pieces all over that it makes the inside of your rover look like a puzzle.

I think you get what you pay for in this dept.

Good luck!

After working at a new car dealership a few years back while in high school, I would never buy an aftermarket flat dash kit unless it was a molded one. They look cheesy and attach with 3M double sided tape. I cant believe that customers were dumb enough to pay $1000 extra for the flat kits.

Does LR offer a piano black or carbon fiber dash kit at the dealer? What dash kits do you guys have? Pics would be nice

the ones on ebay are flat vinyl style pre cut. which means they will look like junk when you put them on. they are NOT molded just pre cut. so if you are going to go wood get the kit from LR

DO NOT PURCHASE AN AFTERMARKET KIT!!!! It is a huge mistake. Looks slightly okay at first, but it will start to peal or look crappy after guaranteed.
Buy the kit sold by Land Rover, it's VERY expensive through the dealer, but that is the kit to purchase hands down. Personaly I bought mine on eBay for $100!! It was an unbelievable deal. You probably won't find that deal again. I actually bought another one from the same seller to relist. I sold it for $350, but never the less, eBay is much cheaper and it's a joke to install. They just stick on with double sided 3m tape. They're not always listed, so you have to look every so often. DEFENITELY DO NOT GET AN AFTERMARKET KIT ON EBAY, ONLY buy the OEM KIT. It WILL effect the resale value and will look horrible if you buy the aftermarket kit!!! Hope this helped.

Well the factory kit is a glue on kit that just lays over the center entertainment center and the air vents in all honesty its not that great but  here is the good news   you can buy a 08 piano black wood kit that is actual wood and is not a glue on kit. the 08 lr3's hse came with piano black like the westminester rangerover.  so if you want your to look really nice go with the 08 its really easy to install  just remove the old panels and clip the new ones in.
