Hi everybody... My name is Fernando I'm from Brazil and i Had a very bad experience with a LR3 here in Brazil. Let me try to discribe... Here in my city sand dunes are very common and is also very common people riding on these dunes. Last saturday when I was i one of these dunes all side air bags were activated... Incredible... I was folowing a Ford Ranger and a Toyota Land Cruiser... There was people in the back of the ranger and none of them had nothing... I'm telling this just for you see that there wasn't any reason for these air bags explode... I called the Land Rover assistance here in Brazil and they said that I was doing an improper use.... This Car is very uncommon here in Brazil, but we still have some dealers and they said that they never heard about this... What do you guys think about this???? Thank you and sorry about my english mistakes

Wish I could help, but I have never heard of that happening before. If you were throwing the LR3 around in the dunes and hit something, maybe, but I really don't know without having been there.

Does it seem strange to have only one airbag open? Seems like a defect - would seem to me the Land Rover could handle dunes! You should push the dealer hard on that one. Doesn't seem right. (Commercials in US show LR3 climbing hills, running through water and many other tough out-of-the-ordinary driving conditions. Good luck.

My only guess would be you exceeded max angle and yr LR3 thought you're about to roll over and deployed air bags for your protection... but I'm not sure if LR3s are programmed to react that way. Besides, since you haven't rolled over, I'd take the matter back to Land Rover. Take the car back to those dunes, snap a picture, and ask if they really think it's an improper use. It's one thing when you question reliability; it's completely another when you question the whole concept of LRs capabilities - the damage to reputation could be much bigger.

But I'm going to the courts...I don't see another way to solve this problem.. :( And when Passed the bump just one whell went up... Bye ... Fernando Diniz LR3 2006 Green
