i went offroading in my 99 disco 1, and i bottomed out hard (hard enough to bend the body mounts up now the back door wont open) and when i did it, the hazards started flashing on their own. I had to shut the engine off and restart it for them to stop flashing... is this normal?

It can happen, sounds like it is time to pick your trails better and or up-grade your suspension. That type of impact can actually cause a fault code to show up thru your Check engine light.
