When I start my disco and sometimes put it in gear without warming it up (in a hurry), it won't go into gear. Is this a typical torque converter problem like a domestic car?? Disco has 95,000 miles on it. don't know much about land rover trannies, would a torque converter change help?? Otherwise the tranny works fine. Thanks, Steve

What year is the truck, electrical or mechanical tranny, and how long has it been since you check the fluid level and or changed it?

yep. Why do you ask? service should include dropping the pan draining and flushing, and putting in new fluid and filter, correct??

No, not that it is wrong, but on a D2, you only change the filter at 30K after that it is just a fluid change by draining the pan and refilling. How many miles on the truck? Are you sure your fluid level is correct, have you crawled under and pulled the fill plug with the engine running?

Pulling the fill plug is the only way you can check you tranny fluid level, you don't have a dip stick. So go check it to see if you are low on fluid.
