Our recently purchased 2003 LR has some interior door trim pieces (these are pieces located around the door frame and not the door itself) that need to be replaced.  It seems that maybe the windshield was once replaced and someone has pulled off the trim pieces which broke off the innerlocking type connections.  Now we are unsure if we should pry them off again and if there is some sort of locking mechanism underneath that will break.  I was wondering if anyone has taken these off before and if so how are they connected?

Exactly what trim part are you talking about, you have mentioned door trim yet you are also mentioning the windshield?

This is the black plastic trim piece on each side of the windshield. It has a rubber strip against the windshield and wraps around the roof support pillar ad secures inside the door jam. It is about 5" wide. The official name is a "side finisher-windscreen" Rover part #DCB500060PMA. Someone has removed them in the past and broken all of the fasteners.  They glued them all back together and we just want to take them off to replace them with ones that are not broken.

Thanks!
Walter
