Importing two 110 Defenders - 9/29/2007 8:15:43 PM    wolfpack6   Posts: 4 Joined: 9/29/2007 Status: offline Hello all, I am pretty lucky as I live and work in Germany so I have had the opportunity to find a couple older defenders I can ship back to the states when they turn 25 next year or when I return to the states in a few years.  This red one is in fantastic shape because it belonged to a fire station in Switzerland, so it doesn’t need much repair. It does however have the small gas engine in it, so I plan on swapping that for a 3.5 V8. I also have a  blue station wagon that is in much poorer condition, so the plan for that one is to buy a 1999 or 2000 model and strip it for parts to overhaul the 1983 before shipping it back. (I was just at the Rover dealership a few weeks ago drooling over the new Defenders.) The 25 year old exception rule is the only way I can figure to get one (or two) back to the states.
