I've lurked for the past few months and really love the boards. Anyone else had to deal with this? The first time I saw the key I was worried. The center cut was so deep. My worries came to fruition. It broke right in the middle. Anyway, had a locksmith out this morning and after an hour and a half he left -- key fragment still stuffed in place. I've been offered two options from the import shop I've used for years: 1) a $600 ignition cylinder. None available locally, needs to ship from England. 1 to 3 weeks. Since the key won't turn, I'm looking at 4 hours of labor 2) an $800 full lock/ignition set -- available locally, and I end up with tow keys and a bunch of new locks in a bag -- + 4 hours of labor. I found a couple online for significantly less but just looking for any additional ideas anyone might have. I've got another locksmith coming out tomorrow who will hopefully have better luck. Anyway, send your good vibes! ------- ropadope 2003 Land Rover Discover II SE7

How about $250 in parts. http://www.roverlandparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=477 This is a great group to buy guaranteed used parts from.
