So, while on about a 45 degree angle, sliders deep in mud with the tail pipe in the water and winching out (off nothing solid) I had the three amigos come on. This was very bad since my front is a TrueTrac and this basically made it work like an open-diff again.

They have stayed on, any ideas on what to look for? I made sure none of the plugs pulled on the ABS sensors but it's dark and things are mud-encrusted so it's a bit hard to see if the sensor cables themselves have been compromised.

Ideas?

Dude, you need to invest in an Autologic scanner.......I'll bet one of the wheel sensors got dirty.

I'm looking for a scanner now, suggestions and advice is appreciated.  I guess I'll pull things apart and clean them, what a pain though.  You'd expect those to be water tight.

$8000 give or take.
As for the cause, either a sensor got dirty or simple because the wheels were spinning at different rates while trying to get out and possibly braking, either would throw a fault.
I don't understand why you felt this would cause a problem with your T.T., ABS has no effect of these lockers. I run a T.T. in the front and a Detroit in the rear and as long as I have the CDL engaged, it doesn't matter what is going on the T.T. works.

Yeah, I'll pull and clean them today and put a touch of silicone on the fitting when I re-fit, same with the plug connections.

Yeah I thought a TT should, but I may have had too little pressure on that wheel then because my left front certainly stopped spinning.

I'll have to pull the photos and post them.  It was 'need a Challenger II' stuck. :)

Don't put any lube of any type on your sensors, it will with time get down on to the head of the sensor, collect dust and throw codes.

I didn't mean lube, I meant waterproofing but it's a moot point I found a tear in one of the sensor wires and have spliced it but can't get it reset until tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the advice.

You need to start putting up videos on YouTube...or go to work for LR's R&D department....

No kidding.  I got so deep into Mountain/Rock/Ice climbing that I had to start a guide service just to write off the gear and justify more :)

I will post some pics soon, just need to pull them off the camera.

Well looks like the short in the torn (and now repaired) line was the problem resetting the codes all is fine.  Now to go get some nylon wire wrap and armour up those cables a bit.
