Hi i'm new to the forum great to see all the help thats out there.
I have a TD5 that came in from Japan damaged. We had to take the head off to repair the timing cover. We've put it back together & everything is great except that when it warms up(not too warm) & you hold the engine at about 1500 rpm it starts smoking & the engine looses rpm & smokes more . You can increase the rev's & it clears off but this is at about 3500 rpm, then if you drop it back slowly it starts "bogging down" & smoking again until it gets back to idle when it comes clean again. We had synthetic oil in it but have changed this back to a 14w40 grade oil.....!!!
Any ideas...???
