Willie 00D2 -> Capacitor (10/11/2007 10:56:00 PM)

I have a. capacitor that I want to hook up to my system. I am using a MTX 2300 amp with 4 GA. power and ground wire. Does anyone know how to wire it corectly?

Thank you,
Willie

I'd sell it and get a good battery, like say an Odyssey PC2150 which will put out 1 kiloamp when shorted. I never see low voltage conditions and my setup has a peak draw of just under 80A.

I just put in a new optima red top a few weeks ago. This rover has never turned over so fast.  Do you think will be good enough to not use a capacitor?

Thank you,
Willie

There is little evidence that a cap is needed in anything other than cheap low-output alternator vehicles. The alternator in the Disco is over 100A output (120A I think) and a red-top has plenty of capacity. I would not bother with a cap.

i got a phoenix gold 1500watt amp with a optima red top pushin 1 audiobahn 12" and the lights dim when its hittin hard. so yeah get a cap. save yourself the headache.
