Hello,  I have a 99 Disco and can't get the code to work.  I have tried everything on the web and cannot get it to accept the code.  I do not have the owner's manual and hoping someone can give me the exact instructions.  I tried the waiting for one hour and holding the band button down before entering.

Thanks.

Where di you get the code from, is this the original radio, possibly it was changed out once if so you'll need to remove the radio, get the serial number and along with the vin have the dealer's service department reverify the code with Rover.

I got the code from Land Rover based on Vin number.  The radio could have been changed out but before I go to plan B I looking for someone who has the exact instructions on how to enter the code.  I have seen 4 variations on the web and not sure if any are right.  I do not have the owners manuel so I am hoping someone can lead my down the right path.  I have gone as far as disconnecting the battery in hopes to reset and left the code on for over an hour.  I enter the code and get a beep.  I am told that there is something to do with the band button but not sure.

Thanks.

Series 1 or 2?? for a series one, if you input the wrong code 3 times, you have to leave the ignition and radio on for 1 hour continuously and enter the right code.

series 2 only states that the delay time allowing you to enter codes doubles each time you get it wrong.

I believe that I have a series I and I would told that I could turn the key on for an hour but did not have to keep it running.  If this is true that may be my problem.  Thanks.

rnb u ever figure this one out?

I have a 1996 Discovery and I changed out the battery and got the code from the dealer and it didnt work for me.  They also told me to leave the radio on for a hour and try again.  I did not leave the car running either.

Am i suppose to leave the car running?

Leave the key on or drive it.
As old as your truck is, your radio may have been replaced, if so, you may need to pull the radio, get the chassis number off of the back of it and have the dealer re run your code inquirey with that number

So the key just have to be in the ON position and the car does not need to be started?
