What Phototone said, spot on, spot on. Not to mention that families are spread out all over Gods creation. No discount air fare, Amtrak is just as expensivse.
If we were to ride Amtrak from Grand Rapids to Chicago (160 miles by car) it would cost more, even at todays gas prices, and then once we get there we either have to rent a car or pay for a Taxi. Same thing if we were to go to Detroit. (also 160 miles)

You guys watch, they will continue to drop the price of gas until the holiday, then BAM!!, the price will go back up just in time for driving home from your long weekend.
