OK, this wasnt meant to be a political post, two things you never discuss with your friends or family, politics and religon. Now with that being said, here are my two cents...
Drilling for oil in AK is not the answer. There is only enough oil there to last us about a year.
And an extra $25 per week when you dont have an extra $25 per week may as well be a million dollars. Do I not buy gas or groceries for my family?
Dumped digital cable and went with basic, slowed the internet down, no land line just cell phone, reduced the amount of insurance on the cars, no usung the central air, used blankets and kept the house cold all winter, and still cannot afford to leave the city because wages are not going up. Milk went from $1.60 per gallon to over $3.00, costs more to truck, costs more to feed the cows, cost more to plant the field, costs more..., costs more...
We need to get out of Iraq. They dont want us there so they are raising their price on crude, eventually we will get the hint, but not as long as we have a person who supports big companies over the little guy.

For those interested, there were different specialist on t.v this evening and they all agreed that gas is suppose to go up about 3 times the present price within the next 5 years. I was flabergasted.

If the Middle East was smart they would keep the U.S. in cheap oil and we would stay out of the Middle East.

Canada is directly affected by the u.s economy. Otherwise we couldn't care less who you elect for president. What is really ridiculous, is that we pay some 20% more for gas and your gas comes from over here

Yet another reason that America is better than Canada.

As I am sure you know, the political tension in this country is off the wall. Everybody is so sick of Bush that they would elect almost anybody right now.

I agree with you guys on most of the stuff you're saying, and I also agree that its time for change, I think when President Bush came along the times were EXTREMELY differnt, obviously he didnt plan on all this happening.. That being said, we need a new style of government to fit the times, but we need someone who is crazy smart and has enough experience to really understand we we are going through. While I hate every bit of the situation in Iraq, I shutter at what could happen if we leave... If it were up to me I would pick up all the terrible people there in a plane, fly over the ocean, and kick them all out. Next I would go to washington, load all the government in a plane and drop them off on an island far far away and start over. I think both sides (dem. and rep.) are way to extreme and corrupt. thats all I will add </politcal rant>

ANYWAYS. I hate gas prices just as much as the next guy, but I think we might as well get used to it because the times they are a changin'....

Taxes on gas, or even taxes period are crazy over here. On gas alone, over 1/3 of the gas price is taxes. There's even taxes on tax. Gas here is sold by the liter as you probably know, and it takes 4 liter to make 1 u.s gallon. Anyways, they put a percentage of taxes on every liter, then tax you on your total purchase. So its taxes on tax.

It might be bad that way up here, but you don't have to be rich to go to the hospital, get an operation, or buy medication. We might have longer winters over here, but much less chance of being hit by tornados and /or huge storms.

But vermont would be quite interesting  Any need for cops over there???

I don't think its bad just different.
Many years ago we would grab our beer and chase tornados.
I think its all what you know and are comfortable with.
