I bought an 06 HSE from LR Mission Viejo last week and would like to share my lack of confidence in their service department to this point.
The vehicle has 20K miles on it and looks great, but unfortunately has been sitting in the shop since the day after the purchase. On the way home from the dealer on the day of purchase, I noticed a grinding wheel bearing sound from the rear, and later as we got home realized that our Rosen DVD player has really poor picture quality with lines all across it. Dropped the car off the next morning and was given a rental. Picked up car today, a week later, and was told that not only did they "renew" my front differential which supposedly caused the grinding noise, but my DVD player has been repaired and they also replaced all 4 tires, since during the certification process prior to selling me the vehicle they somehow missed this. Great! So I drive home, and within the first mile, I noticed grinding noise from left rear still there, and DVD picture still sucks. Ohh and now we have a brake noise, squeek from the front of the truck. I parked at my house and checked out the pads and rotors with a flashlight, and realize all the rotors are glazed, and grooved with a lip, but the pads are brand spanking new.
Needless to say, I am sending my wife back first thing to the dealer, I wish I could be the one but work calls and will be calling them first thing. So the truck was certified "Land Rover Certified" yet they missed replacing worn tires, missed a very evident bearing noise, did not turn or replace rotors just slapped on some new pads, and looked past a faulty DVD screen.
I am very dissapointed in their 140 point inspection process, if this is how vehicles come out of them.
I am not a Land Rover basher nor a complainer, I love our truck, its great, we had a Discovery before this, but come on. I would expect this from Hyundai not Rover.
