I just bought a set of 245/75/16 BFG A/T tires. So far I have been very happy with them in all the conditions I have driven with them. Today it snowed about 2" and I was able to stop on a steep hill and start again with no tire spin. I have not had it on packed snow or Ice yet though. Has anyone tried tire siping? Is there any negatives to siping? My tires are not siped but I could have it done when I have the tire rotated.

Thank you,
Willie

Sipng is more for MT type tires that have no siping and boy it does make an improvement with them.

UNLESS THE TIRES ALREADY COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH SIPING.... DONT HAVE THEM DONE. PERIOD. MICHELINS AND BFG'S ARE THE BEST WAY TO GO ANYWAY.

Bad information. Some states are already using sipping or recommending it.
I have siped my BFG MT's with terrific results in both snow and ice. I know a number of 4wheel clubs that all sipe their tires for use on slick rock.
Why are you so certain that this should not be done??
