EuroSunday Sacramento 2008 - 12/9/2007 8:47:47 PM    m3dragon   Posts: 73 Joined: 6/5/2007 Status: offline EuroSunday Sacramento 2008 2008 EuroSunday event calendar!  In addition to EuroSunday's; euro 500 rally, The Breakfast Club (Mike Ritenour's 4th Sunday prelude to EuroSunday), Rally 4 Kids, Euro Expo, and Cars/Kids/and Toys...you can expect that we'll be calendaring Tim Taylor's rallies, and various car club events.  BTW - EuroSunday Plus is a featured make event happening on the second Sunday of each month starting in 2008.  Still no RSVPS and no $0's for our events!!  Below is the EuroSunday and EuroSunday Plus regular event's calendar and locations that you can find on our website http://eurosunday.net/calendar.htm ; January - 2nd Sunday @ Pavilions.  Featured make is BMW January - 4th Sunday @ Pavilions February - 2nd Sunday @ Roseville.  Featured makes are Porsche and Mercedes February - 4th Sunday @ Roseville. The euro 500 rally - The website is up! www.euro500rally.com Dates, details, and applications are all available online. This is limited to 50 cars and we already see have 3 vintage cars for every exotic car registered so far. Set these dates aside and register now - April 25th, 26th, and 27th for 2008. This will be an incredible display of euro art! 2. EuroSunday PLUS - BMW is the featured mark for the second Sunday in January. From 9:00 am until 11:00 am (PLUS has a different time than EuroSunday) on Jan. 13, 2008 at the Pavilions. All are welcome, but BMW will be the showcase cars and we will be catering to them. 3. Volunteers still needed - Youtube administrator, Video/Film (1 person), Photographers (lead, and 2 additional), Journalists (2 people), Parking help (1 person), Rally 4 Kids event help (7 people), and Forum help (11 people). Please contact krista@eurosunday.net for your interest or questions in regards to this. 5. Sacramento's EuroSunday - January 27, 2008 at the Pavilions. EuroSunday Plus kicked off with over 50 BMWs taking over Pavilions in a typical EuroSunday fashion. EuSu's core group was on hand to start the New Year strong.  Jo and Gene were there in their red SL 500, Collin in his Maserati, Patt in her Techno Violet M3, Rick in his Yellow M5 and Randy and the A&S gang. Our first Plus event showcased the wide array of BMWs here in the Sacramento region. Joe and Colby from Luxury Motorcars put on a great demonstration on the detailing service they offer along with their personalized vehicle sales. Wade, from Action Dent Removal, helped one very lucky patron erase a dent out of his hood - amazing work!  Jay from Ground Control had a large array of products on hand and was present to personally consult on changing the suspension of individual cars. With perfect weather, it was a great day to meet, greet, and have fun.    For those who were not able to attend the EuroSunday Plus event here are some reminders for you of upcoming events. 1. euro500rally - For those of you who have been considering the event we are still taking applications for those who wish to attend. The event is open to ALL CARS AND MOTORCYCLES. Sorry for the strong emphasis as there has been some confusion on what cars can attend. We welcome all cars and bikes to participate as in all EuroSunday events. The euro 500 rally carries the spirit of the EuroSunday events as it is not just a drive it is an adventure with your friends and family. For more details please visit www.euro500rally.com 2. Next EuroSunday  - will be at the Pavilions on 1-27-08 from 8:00am till 10:30am. The Breakfast Club will meet at 6:00am. RSVP with Mike R. at mike@eurosunday.net. While mother nature seemed to over look our weather request for low 80s and sun. The turn out of cars was spectacular considering the chilly and wet weather. Our usual die hard fans where there, some in their alternate cars (mike ;-) along with some new cars. Jeff in his 997 white GT3 and some of the Sac Water gang in there VW’s. Even the Ferrari crew was out in force. Orrie in his 355 spider showed up top down, John in his 360 and Greg in his testarossa to name a few. It was a great day despite the weather and we look forward to seeing all of you in the coming month. Porsche and Mercedes had the best and largest marquee turnouts to date - certainly much more than we had expected...about 50 cars more than we expected!  Standouts included two Carrera GTs, several 997 GT3’s, a replica spyder, the always popular Mercedes van, the Gull Wing Group SLs, and a huge turnout from the local Porsche & 356 clubs. The list goes on and on for an amazing turnout of cars that included not only our featured makes, but a nice mix of many European vehicles. With over 100 plus cars and motorcycles showing up to enjoy the perfect weather for this month's Plus event, our next EuroSunday in Granite Bay looks to be one not to miss. Spread the word as you never know what might be there - like the Saleen 7 that rolled in at yesterday's closing. Those who wanted more EuroSunday were treated to a great drive up Folsom Auburn and eventually lead around the back side of the lake. One of our drivers had a minor scare when his car aggressively hit a patch of moss on the road spinning the car 300 degrees. No one was hurt and nothing was damaged, but afterwards the lead driver (Adam) did chat with the owner.  Ultimately everyone made it to BJs in Folsom to enjoy a great lunch and much more car talk. The next EuroSunday will be at Peet’s Coffee again in Roseville at the same location. Despite the wet and windy conditions we still had a great turnout for the event. The Diehard enthusiasts truly showed themselves for this event as well as several new participants. Greg came out to the event in his Ferrari and Ron hitched a ride with Jon in a BMW wagon loaner car. Two 911 Turbo owners were new to the event and had a great time with everyone "talking cars" inside of Peet’s Coffee. Everyone spent their time drinking coffee and eating scones in Peet’s coffee while a brave few went outside to take pics and videos of the attending cars. Unfortunately, the spectacular drive we had planned was rained out, but we will be saving this drive for when the weather gets better. RE: EuroSunday Sacramento 2008 - 3/4/2008 10:14:12 AM    m3dragon   Posts: 73 Joined: 6/5/2007 Status: offline EuroSunday e-News Announcement 3/4/2008 EuroSunday’s main event for March has been changed to Saturday3/22/08.This change is because the original date of 3/23/08 is Easter Sunday (Larry Stiver's useless knowledge- Easter falls on the first Sunday following the first full moon that occurs on or after the day of the vernal equinox; the vernal equinox is fixed as March 21. There are some highly technical rules for determining the actual date of the full moon, but when you take all this into account the result is that Easter can never occur before March 22 or later than April 25 and will not be celebrated this early in the year for another 20 years) All the usual EuroSunday event activities will be taking place (including the Breakfast Club) and at the usual times, but all will happen on 3/22/08 at the Pavilions in Sacramento instead. Hopefully the weather will be as perfect as it has been the last few days and we will have a great spring showing. Other news and updates; EuroSunday Plus on Sunday March 9th at the Pavilions - This month's featured marquee is Citroen and Vespa. The Citroen group has been busy pulling its club members from Washington to Southern California, A&S is rounding up the local Royal Bastards Scooter Club, and a few folks are working on the Burgundy Topz vintage Vespa group to have to attend this month's Plus event. Not only do I tip my hat to everyone's effort, but must also acknowledge that this marquee will be one of my favorites for the year. FYI - Plus has quickly grown to exceed the numbers of our usual EuroSunday events. Please be aware of this and arrive early! The featured marquee will be corralled up front and all else will be pushed back in the parking lot. Euro 500 Rally - We've heard that the reason for so many late registrations has been because of the time it takes to complete the application, and/or not sure of the weather for April. This is where some of you are saying "YEAH! finally...they get me" and others are snorting saying "Come On!" Here is how we'll take care of both of these issues;1.We'll have EuroSunday volunteers on hand to take pics of your car, take your info (drivers license, insurance info), take your deposit check of $145 made payable to Euro 500 Rally, LLC and help you complete the application...all in under 7 minutes!2.For April's weather we'll guarantee that there will be some. We will even put it in writing and sign it "There will be weather during this rally - guaranteed" ;)This is the EuroSunday crowd - "Driven to Drive"!! Tim Taylor and Adam Cook are busy monitoring the rally's main route and in remote chance of snow, they have alternate routes mapped out already. They will be testing all routes in the next few weeks. This rally is to enjoy the drive and the company. EuroSunday Plus and EuroSunday (on Saturday) will be the only two times you can sign up for this event!
