LR3 Diesel - 7/31/2005 11:45:06 PM    VinDiesel   Posts: 20 Joined: 7/31/2005 Status: offline I see a 2.7 I4 Diesel is available in the UK. Anyone else think that Ford should stick the awesome 6.0L V8 TDi Powerstroke into the LR3 for the US market? I for one would buy it! Post #: 1

Here's the LRNA line on the matter, though... "At this time Land Rover does not have any plans to introduce a diesel version of any of our models into the United States. This would require several design and performance changes in order to be compliant with strict U.S. safety and emissions standards. While there are no current intentions of importing diesel vehicles, Land Rover may choose to do so in the future. We do appreciate our customer's enthusiasm regarding a diesel option and I have therefore forwarded your comments to product development for consideration." ppthhhpppt!!! As usual the American car companies think they have a bead on what the consumer wants. Can they afford to wait until gas is $80 per barrel and Toyota and Nissan have cornered the big suv market? Land rover all ready has diesels if you want a diesel.
