I had to replace the battery in my newly purchased 96 discovery the other day. after that the radio/cd/tape player would not work. when I turn it on it says CODE. According to my owners manual there should be a five digit code that I need to enter. It also said that I could find the code "on the two cards supplied with your vehicle". There are two road recovery cards in the owners manual are these the right cards? If so where can I find the code? There is a four digit code under the vin but god only knows what that is. Any help would be great.

I had a '97 Disco that I traded in a couple months back. There are indeed two radio code cards you are supposed to have. They are different than the road recovery cards. If you don't have/can't find them, you'll probably have to see a dealer, where they can look the code up for you. Good luck.
