stock defender 90 and defender 110, just how tall are they? Can they fit in my garage with 6' 8" clearance? They look pretty tall...

77" with 205/80 tyres. 235/85 tyres take this up another 3 inches overall, so 80" or 6'8". Other mods and suspension lifts can dramatically increase the roof height and as they're very simple to modify at home with little more than a budget socket set the only way to be absolutely certain how tall a Defender is, is to take a tape measure with you when you go to look at it.

do most of you have to stay out of the garage? I think my garage door is pretty standard, and any decent mods would make it hard to fit under the door.

Dig some foot wide trenches, six inches deep, from about four feet in front of the door to the back of the garage... drive down these and you'll clear the doorway in all but the most madly modded defenders :)

I have a thick slab of concrete that would be pretty hard to "dig" into...

just bust up the cement. it is verrry simple to raise the height of your garage i have done it twice at the farm house. it sounds funny but simple and if you are not comfortable dooing it. it will be fairly inexp. to have done. a verry small price to pay for one of the coolest vehicles on the road. hell id build a seperate garage if my wife would let me get a defender to play with.

yeah, I'd just build a carport or extra garage, because I can't simply raise my current attached garage with a 1000 square foot studio on top of it. I was dumb to not build in a bigger garage door, but I never thought I'd be considering an suv. Now the family is big enough for a big vehicle. We JUST built the new garage and studio this last year, and I went with a very normal, standard door size. I know a custom, taller, wider door would've been more money, but might've been worth it now... Anyway, I think I can squeeze a few more inches out if I change some of the molding around the door, so I might be OK.

the shipping spec's for defenders with standard 7.50 r 16 tyres are as follows: all are 2076mm, I also have full diamentions and cubic meter diamentions available if needed. This comes of shipping vehicles to the US for many years.
