We Just got a 2006 Landrover (Rangerover HSE)--so far happy with it--2 early questions:

1) What do the readouts on the display "fuel consumption 1 and 2 refer to?

2) While the car runs very well and we like it, it seems whenever I go into a sharp turn (e.g. in the western mnountains of NC), a yellow warning triangle appears on the dash and an annoyingly loud grating sounds emanates from the wheel area (I think)--any ideas?--sorry for the elementary nature of my questions

I don't know what the fuel consumption means, but the yellow triangle is traction control.  It kicks in when a wheel slips and sounds awful.  You must be flying around those corners!

slow down on the turns, it's a Range Rover not a Mustang

fuel consumption: it probably has two displays so you can do two "tanks"

For example, tank A is a total readout for a long trip, tank B can be reset each time you refuel on this same long trip. That way you can still check mileage and miles per tank etc on one tank and then do the same thing for the whole trip if that makes sense

My mom's Jag does that

The fuel consumption 1 & 2 are there to let you measure how many MPGs you're getting since the last time you reset each one.  I generally reset one of them each time I refill the tank, and use the other only for long-distance trips, or to measure MPGs ofver a longer period of time (otherwords, rarely reset that one).  Your owners manual describes it.

Don't ask me why I reset it & pay attention to it.  Not like I'm going to be surprised by some random and appreciable increase in gas mileage.  I think it's just there to remind me that I'm driving a Rover, not a Prius.
