my buddy and i are going to do the middle section of mojave rd this week from lanfair rd to kelso-cima rd. probably spend the night thursday night and leave from LA early thurs morning and be back in LA friday night. anyone want to discuss a possible caravan with us? the road isnt supposed to be all that tough wheeling but extremely beautiful this time of year and unchanged from 150 years ago. we'll be stopping at some abandoned mines, ghost towns and springs along the way and prob moving pretty slow with lots of time to check out the desert. i've got the mojave rd chart, maps and trail clearly marked on printouts and on my gps. should be fun. drop me a line if interested! were taking my 2001 d2 mostly stock vehicle and prepared with everything one would need for a desert crossing.

Toronado, Thanks for your adventuresome spirit in wanting to put something like this together. That is the attitude that embodies the Land Rover spirit. However, it would appear that the greater percentage of people who roam on this forum are the "status quo" Land Rover owners that would never consider anything more adventuresome than a trip to the airport in their rovers. That seems to be the more accurate in particular with the California bunch for some reason.

I have tried several times in the past to do something like this and the response has been Zero every time. You may want to consider checking with SCLR club and see if any of them want to join you. I know my club is heading there shortly, next month I believe. At any rate, keep exploring, keep the adventure going. They don't know what they're missing!

It is THIS weekend that NCLR will be out playing in Mojave. You are bound to run into them at some point. I will have to miss this one, prior engagements, tell them Jantiz said hello! You can log into the website and check where they'll be and when.
