Look at them. In every catagory but two you're saying they are the best tires out there, no room for improvement.
Just because they may be the best you've run, doesn't mean they are the best on the market.

I think you missed the point of the Poll. It's not so much how your Rover corners in comparison to a Murcielago or how it grips the road when compared to a 911 as it is how you as the owner would rate your level of satisfaction with your current tires, and in that I would still say that my opinion was fair and unbiased.

Obviously I can't give opinion on what I haven't tried, but more than a year after owning these tires, I would think I'm entitled to give my opinion as a consumer on how my tires have performed so far. Are there better mud traction tires out there? Im sure. Are there better ice/snow tires out there? Fairly sure there are. Are there better Corner stability tires out there? Im sure. However, anytime you move towards any  extremes, you usually loose somewhere else. An agresive mud tire will hum and vibrate on highway. A low profile, high speed cornering tire will loose ride comfort. So on and so forth. I just think that the fact that there are several tires out there which have proven to simply be excellent in so many areas at the same time is something worth telling other Land Rover owners about.

No, not at all. You want people to rate their AT tires.
My point was that you've rated them the absolutel best all around tire. What happens with the next set of tires you get and you realize they are better? You've left no room to let people know they are better.
If you end up always rating your tires 10 out of 10 you loose credibility.
What other tires have you had and how do you rate them?

I started with the Goodyear HPs, like everyone else. I rate them good enough to start a fire with. They ride rough, wear awful, don't last worth a crap and serve no purpose off road.

Then I moved to Nitto T/G 285/60/18. I rate them Excellent off road tires. Great traction in sand, dirt, mud (at least the moderate mud I did tackle) rocks, not a chance to try them in snow/ice however as I ended up switching before winter. On road however, they need a little more refinement. They have a slight vibration, some road (tread) noise and they feel "mushy" on corners. They did ride fairly comfortable.

My last set was the Goodyear Silent Armors. I rate them excellent. There is almost no vibration. Definitely much less than the Nittos. There is zero tread noise, zilch, none. They make the ride feel "lexus" plush, yet offer "low profile like" cornering behavior. I've had them out in Ice and in snow and I was as sure footed as if I had been on dry pavement in places where everyone else around me was sliding, slipping and going for the ditches. They have 25k miles on them now and still show well over 50% tread life left and seem to be wearing extremely even. Actually, they feel smoother now that when brand new. The kevlar layer built into the tire has saved me countless times from nails and screws that almost made it, but couldn't get past the kevlar, and the 50k mile warranty puts extra peace of mind as an added bonus. Their off road traction is equal to that of the Nittos I had on first, if not slightly better.

I understand that the Cooper Zeons behave almost identical to the Silent Armors. Many guys in my club use them and are very happy with them. I have never used them myself but I can compare how my LR3 behaves off road compared to the other LR3s with the coopers and with the Nittos and mine just seem to have less trouble consistently going over obstacles than the rest. So, what is there not to like about the Silent Armors? I'm still waiting to see a post from someone who did not like them. So far everyone who has asked me directly for advice and bought them based on my advice has written back to thank me because they absolutely love them! I simply believe they make the best "all around"  (with "all around" being the key word here) tire out there for the LR3 today and I wanted some opinions on what everyone else out there is using so we can all broaden our horizons to what's out there and what seems to be working for us, Rover owners.

So if anyone else out there is using something else beside the three tires which seem to get the most thumbs up from LR owners as best all around tires, the three being the Nitto Terra Grapplers, Cooper Zeon LTZ and Goodyear Silent Armors, please chime in and let the rest of us know so that we can consider them on our next purchase.
