With the exception of the rims and navigation system from '96 to '02, the Range HSE are identical cosmetically(exterior & interior). In '99 BMW took over the brand so a smoother BMW engine and Bosc electrical system was introduced, other than that you couldnt tell the diff without looking at the registration on the window. With that being said,look for the one with the fewest miles & dings for your money, for instance,when purchasing mine i narrowed it down to a '98 with 61k for $12,000, a '99 with 99k for $10,000, and a '01 with 75k for $14,000. Best believe i got the '98 and she's a BEAUTY!
