i am interested in buying a range rover but do not know the difference between the two.  Can anybody enlighten me on the differences.  and if each one of the 2 were offered at same price which one would be a better buy ?  am i hallucinating but these two almost look exactly the same ?  what are the shape differences and etc.

thanks

confused

The new redesigned MkIII body style started the BMW owned Land Rover era with the 2003 Range Rover. The Range Rover saw some minor interior/exterior changes in 2006 but continues to retain the classic look of the 2003 model and is also available in a supercharged model. The Range Rover Sport is derived from the 2004 Land Rover STORMER concept vehicle that got rave reviews worldwide and was later given the nod for production. The RR Sport shares the the frame and many other parts with the also new LR3 model. Both were introduced to the market in2005. The RR Sport is also available in a supercharged version.

LR3 new 2005 model, bigger size, 3rd row seating, and off road capability.
RR Sport new 2006 model, smaller inside than the LR3 but its the sports car of the LR lineup.
RR MKIII HSE is smaller inside than the LR3, top of the line luxury, classic look since 2003

You cant go wrong with any of these models, they are all very unique in utility and capability.

Iroc displayed all the other specifics, but the biggest difference is the price at around $18k to be exact. Aside from that their shapes differ as the Range Rover HSE is slightly taller, wider, has more wood trim than the Sport, and their lights look completely different. I was told the Sport rides & handles like a car(think of BMW's X5) as it was built for that purpose. If giving the option tho, i'd definitely choose the Rover Sport, thats the BEST LOOKING ROVER SINCE THE P38's & Disco II's. Truly doubt you'd find a HSE and Sport at the same price tho.

Well, the RR is unibody while the RR Sport is an LR3 with a body-kit and is body on frame.
