My '95 disco will not start up unless I give it some gas. What is this an indication of? can it be fixed?

Do you have a check engine light, if so what are the codes?
What has been done, tune up wise, in the last year or so, when was the fuel filter last changed?

a hard start was fixed by replacing 2 fuel injectors by the past owner. other services have included replacement of water pump, replacement of expansion tank, replaced timing cover gasket, new dist.cap, new rotors, timing was adjusted recently, spark plug and wires were replaced, new valve cover gaskets, new fuel pump, new serp. belt, new heater and cooling hoses, and new alternator. all was done by the rover group in cali.

Could be any number of things.

Start with the basics. Flush you engine and change your oil and air filter.

So... let me get this straight. You drive a 6000lb., 4WD shoebox with a V8 engine and you can't figure out why your fuel economy is poor?! O_o

What plugs and wires, by brand and gap?
What brand cap and rotor, this can make a huge diffewrence.
What about the fuel filter, if plugged it will make for hard starting.

Are you wanting to get this fixed or just keep throwing money at it??????????????????????????????????????????
I have asked already, is your check engine light on, what codes do you have????????????????????????????????????
Now you can go waist alot of money or you can start paying attention to questions asked.

By the way, injectors won't fix it.

A little voice in my is wondering about the throttle position sensor (TPS) ?

Being lazy, I'd throw an ohmeter on it while working throttle body linkage by hand, and watch my meter. (especially throttle @ closed to just cracked)

But that's just me.

P.S. I would be suprised if you didn't have codes per TPS but I wouldn't count on it either.
