In South Africa we have a 4x4 magazine called "Drive out" It is really good. In the latest one a friend of mine, whom I haven't seen in a while wrote in the following letter. It is so good I had to share it!!

DON"T JUDGE THIS MAN BY HIS SHIRT
"I've never owned a Landy, but to my mind they're legendary. I have done a fair amount of 4x4 driving in Land Rovers, Willy's jeeps, Land Cruisers and military Unimogs, but thats a story for another day.
I recently bought a rugged, green Land Rover shirt at a car show in Durban. It was the start of an adventure in itself. It's the most conversational shirt I have ever worn. (Yes, I do own a few good quality, very overpriced, "J get no response" shirts)
A 7 year old girl from my daughters school came up to me smiling as she pointed to my shirt, saying,"I know that sign! Thats from King Colgates car!" I had a good chuckle. (Brand manager of Land Rover, please note the brand confusion between Colgate and Kingsley Holgate.)
Land Rover lovers and haters of all ages approach me with their tales like we're family. At first, I was cautious of these strangers chatting away, even giving some of them my "unimpressed" didn't-your-mother-tell-you-not-to-talk-to-strangers look.
I soon learned to accept my new family with stories of campfire nights, challenging trails, mud recoveries, river crossings, Mozambique sand and Lesotho Bobbejaans pass. I've become good friends with some Landy owners just because I have the shirt!
The most panful are those who come up to me and complain about the price of their latest service or Disco 3 tyre prices. Like I work for Land Rover consumer complaints or something!
After these conversations I find myself lured to the latest copy of "Drive out" for more stories of adventure, mostly beyond my present budget (a choice between a Land Rover and private school fees is a no contest)
But I'm still dreaming about the days I spent in Land Rovers and other 4x4's and I'm drooling over the new Defender 110 with  much-improved dash and gear ratios.
Meanwhile, at least I've got the shirt."
