Blew the belt today and what a joy. I figured out the route, but how do I tight/losten the new belt? American cars, losten alternator. Disco...not a clue. I am mechanically enclined, but I am lost. It is an "02" Disco I need to fix. I took off the water/heater hose so I will be able to get the new belt looped. What else? Thanks a MILLION in advance.

Yeah it's not like most vehicles, there is no adjustment, just a spring. The tensioner is below the alternator and above the idler pulley on the passenger side of the engine. You need to get a wrench on it and turn it clockwise I think. This will rotate the whole pulley mechanism inward so you can slip the belt on.
