Newbie questions - I have a 03 Discovery that I purchased new. The wife and kids want running boards to ease getting in and out of. I want to keep the car "factory" and use OEM parts. How much should they cost? Is their forum vendor that can beat the dealer? Can I install them myself? Is their any other parts I will need (gaskets, bolts) or does they ship complete? Thanks in advance - Dave

They can run from about $500-1,000 new and as far as a I know they come with all mounting stuff. You will need two people to put them on, if you do it on your own. Its not the easiest thing to do but if you are good with directions and know what to look for it shouldn't be to bad. If you dont do to much off roading they are fine. But if you do they get in the way. I am in the process of taking mine off. But they are for 99'-02' so I dont think they would fit yours. Right now they are in great condition and I am going to sell them for about $300. I would suggest looking for used ones on craigslist or in your classifieds. If you want brand new ones check Atlantic British and D.A.P-Inc. They have good ones, but they are expensive. I know how hard it is for small people to get in, I have two younger sister who use them when they ride with me... I guess I will have to give them a hand when the ride with me from now on! As for me, i'm 6' 4" so i dont really need them. If you need any help or have any questions let me know! EDIT: You can also find some cheap ones, but the OEM from LR stuff is the most expensive (DAP has some in the $200 range)

Call Atlantic British, ask them to send you one of their full size catalogs which will show a few different steps. 1-800-533-2210 Yes, with a frien, you can do it your self. Only suggestion against installing them is if you go off road much, you can tear them off pretty easily.

Usually pretty junked out, bent and or rusted, usually with no hardware.
