I joined a local 4x4 forum...posted my Disco and got railed for it.  I take it they don't like Land Rovers.

If your truck is well equiped, I would go on a run with them as I did years ago, show them what you and your truck can do.

The same thing happened to me.  I got on a local forum and they just let me have it.  They were nice guys and I have a master degree in trash talking but everything changed when I was walking over trails that the more modified jeeps and toyotas were struggling with.  They don't talk much trash anymore.

Some guys from certain forums like what you've told us are just plain and natural. Don't sweat over it too much. The most important thing is, you have your Rover, and it's a Disco! I've been a poor victim too when i joined a forum that talks about Seville models. I tried to ask for advice regarding where can I can find a Cadillac Seville parking lights for a 69 model...Well, they all laughed and told me, "you're too young to drive that crap". Well, it happens to everyone i guess.

They just don't know the capabilities of your ride that's why they can afford to tell you these things. If you happen to see them on the trails, show them what you got!

Make some runs with them and show them what your Rover can do.  I experienced the same bias and chuckles with my local 4x4 group which are mainly jeeps till I made some runs with them.  They disrespect what they don't know.  Also went to the Moab Jeep Safari and got bad looks.  At the end of the Golden Spike trail one hard core jeeper told me " that's one tough little Range Rover you've got there".  The jeepers just don't even the different LR models for the most part.  Run with them and show them your stuff.  They may keep razzing you but it won't be disrespectful any more.
