I just bought a 96 disco SE7 and its pretty sweet except for the seats arent that great and the drivers seat looks like someone took a butter knife to it...
Well I was thinking about buying some new Disco II seats. They are heated and electric just like mine I'm just wondering if they will fit.
Also what is the compatibility with other stuff such as jump seats, and maybe even front bumper and hood?
How different are the disco IIs from the previous models?
it would be nice to know asap (ebay auction ending soon, haha)
Thanks for looking.

Can't answer on the seat covers based on size, but they look different in the D2 than the D1. The mounting brackets appear different in the D2 than the D1.

The Jump seats probably won't work, as I think the '96 still had the seats mounted on the side and face toward each other when deployed. I think all of the D2's face forward. You might be able to jigger a different mount to fit the D2 into a D1, but it is iffy.

Bumpers are slightly different, as are the hoods. Again, might be able to get them to fit, but they are not identical.

From the description, it sounds liket the actuator for the rear motor is working, but either the gear is broken, or the motor is dead. I would also check to see if there is possible anything blocking the window from opening. Look in the rail on the outside of the window seal. I had a stick get wedged in mine once, with similar results...

The funny "skateboard" is the on-off for the cruise control. The set/resume is on the steering wheel.

I would recommend getting the shop manual if you are serious about doing mods. I use mine all the time.
