I have a 1994 RR County, I removed all of my carpet and Rhino lined the floors.  After doing that I heard a loud noise from the rear, not that they are related at all but when I took out the sound reducing material I thought the noise could have been there before.  I ignored the noise and took the truck off-roading this weekend and blew a hole in my rear diff from the inside out.

So my question is, anybody know of a stronger than stock replacement the is a somewhat easy install?  Possabily install a locker or L.S.D. that is cheaper that the ARB ait locker for $800?  I belive that the spider gears are not strong enough to weld so that is not an option.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Did you damage your axle housing?
If not, I would suggest a True Trac diff, very strong design, good traction, they don't fail or require H.D. axles an cheaper then an ARB.

Thanks for the advice,  I did damage my axle housing.  What ever was making the noise in the rear did not want to stay in the housing and shot out and put a 1/2 in hole in the back of the pumpkin.  I do have a complete parts truck that I can take the whole rear end out of but
I wanted to make the diff stronger.  I will upload some pics of my truck soon.

Thanks again.

I have been reading up on the rear end of the Classic and I found out the the 94-95 has a different rear than the 1987-1993.  Does anybody know if the housing from a 91 will fit into a 94?

Thanks again for any help.
