Pulled out the thermostat,  ran the motor, ran a bit warmer, hot rodded it, took temps ... never overheated,  lost a bit more coolant than normal and white smoke was a bit thicker at higher rpms ....

didn't fix my cracked cylinder sleeve

(with thermostat out, i hooked up a trailer and went and picked up my new motor)

haha

Thanks. That was like an itch in the middle of my back you just scratched :) Keep us posted on the new motor. I'm curious to learn if you really dropped a sleeve in the current motor too. You planning to take it apart for a looksee?

Dave

Yah im definitly taking it apart, gonna build up the motor  (horsepower time, woot)

if it is the sleeve, get new ones pounded in,  get heads re-checked for cracks ... intake checked,  use same headgasket and stretch bolts,  and bore the motor out ....  bigger pistons,  possibly stroke it ....
