I just bought a 2001 Range Rover with 88k miles from a Public Auction. Well 2 days later it begins to ride rough and the Check Engine Light came on. I get the following codes.

P0303
P1319
P0301B
P0302
P1300

Thanks!

Any ideas? I do not know any history on this car?

P030x is misfire detected and then X is cylinder number.

so

P0303 - Misfire in cylinder 3

P1319 - Misfire detected with low fuel level

P0301B - P0301 would be misfire cylinder 1, but I'm not sure of what the B means..can't find any mention of it on any of my sites...someone else may have some info.

P0302 - Misfire detected cylinder 2

P1300 - Random/Multiple cylinder misfire; catalyst damaging level of misfire on multiple cylinders

With all these misfire codes, it's quite possible you could have blown a head gasket. Are you having any coolant issues (overheating, low coolant, bubbling in the resevoir when the engine is revved..etc)?

Less severe sources could be spark plug issues, spark plug wiring, or fuel injector problems. Whatever you do STOP DRIVING THE ROVER till you get a proper diagnosis. I'd suggest a compression check to eliminate or confirm the head gasket. Also a visual inspection of the spark plug wiring would be good to be safe.

Edit: Since you're new to rovers, you're gunna want to refrain from driving the vehicle until you get it checked out because the engine blocks are aluminum, and don't take too kindly to any kind of overheating.

My mechanic says its the Fuel Injectors. Do I have to replace all of them? Is it easy to tell which ones are bad? Can anyone a good place to order the fuel injectors from ?

I can attest to this. I had coolant issues and ended up cracking my head on my 98 HSE. Definitely not good ...very expensive issue.

in eight years working on land rovers i have never replaced a
fuel injectors for misfire codes, suggest replacement of all plugs and wires.

every one on this forum likes 8mm Magnacor wires.

as for plugs i only use the land rover plugs
the bosch engine runs best on this plug

According to him he has no fuel pressure tester to test the fuel injectors. But he said he took them out to clean them and now they are fine. But he says I need a ignition coil. Its a 2001 Range Rover 4.6 HSE with 88k miles.

Do you guy think he maybe right with that idea? Is it easy to tell if you have a bad ignition coil? Or do you guys still think to go for new plugs and wires?

i purchase a 2003 range rover and im having some issues with the heating gauge in the car.i replaced the expansion tank, radiator and the thermostat.it appears the car is not over heating.I'M thinking its maybe a false reading from the coolant temp gauge.any suggestions?

Could be a faulty temp sender. I think that if the ECT sensor itself was going bad, it would trip a code...the sender maybe not.

You also may want to consider posting your own thread...instead of hijacking this one..
