I recently got my pioneer stereo to work in my 97 Disco SD (it had already been altered for a jvc stereo when I bought it) and was wondering if there was a way to wire the rear 6.5 mid-subs in the back door to a RCA pre-out from my receiver? I was wondering if I could splice an RCA male to the speakers' factory wiring and plug it into the pioneer pre-out or are there wattage issues to deal with? Since the main stereo amp is by-passed to run the pioneer, has the subs' amp also been by-passed? I could replace the 6.5 speakers and run an aftermarket amp ( have both in the closet) but if I could just plug the current subs into the deck things would be simpler until I'm motivated to do a full upgrade. Just redid my wife's speakers in her sunfire so I'm a little spliced out at the moment. I've looked at the Rave CD but couldn't tell if this would work. Thanks for any advice you guys have, been reading the forum for a while.

I'm not sure if the output to the subwoofers in the back has power to them as the wires hook up to a small amp, so it maybe pre amp out input I would put a meter on it to see.
