Next Saturdey Im going to a rocky trail with a group and want to ask you guys what pressure do you put in your tires when going on rock.  There are boulders and sharp edge rocks.  Before I ve gone in trails at 25 psi, but tires still get lots of sidewall scrapes.  I have General AT2 Grabbers.  BTW. OEM Good Years are the worst tires iv seen in my life.

What size tire are you running? 18 to 20, don't go below or you may roll a bead.

A little late perhaps to mention, but since you went through the trouble and the expense of changing out tires (agree 110% about the factory GY's) why did you stick with the relatively low profile of the 255's if you intended to go off roading with it? I would have recommended 265 at least if you are an ocational off roader and 285 if off roading is the primary use. That way you could make much better use of diflating with the taller side wall. Also, if rock crawling is on your plate at least occationaly, then tires with built in wheel protector would be high on my list of choices.

You're more likely to get tire damage at low pressures than at high pressure. Which is more important? Better traction or no damage? You pays your money and you makes your choice.
