Hello everyoe, My Dad owns a 2002 Freelander. Recently he has had some problems with it. It started overheating. I know a lot of you hear about the overheating issues a lot. I have read may threads about this trying to figure out what is going on. He replaced the thermostat and the car was still overheating. I read somewhere that it might be an air bubble in the cooling system so he bleed that. The car stopped overheating (or at least the temperature lever indicated it wasnt overheating) now the car takes a really long time to warm up, the temerature lever takes about 25 min. to get to the middle. My dad said that the lower radiator hose is cool after the 25 min. But if he turns on the heat, it is extreamly hot, unusually hot. Anyone know what it might be. Could it be his radiator? Thanks in advance fior your help.. Paul

you gotta watch how bad it over heats sometimes when it gets to bad it drops a sleeve and its only a mm and its enough to cause it to slowly leak coolant wich will most deff cause it to over heat pull off oil filler cap and look and see if oil is mirky and crack drain plug to see if any coolant comes out first. i work for a landrover dealer and this is probable one of the most common problems we see with the freelander
