Ok, last thing I did was flush then put in synthetic, change plugs. Drove around block didn't make it. Const low oil pressure light. Had it taken to a part time shop. He is afraid it may be oil pump. I've also read that the filter thingy gets plugged when you flush it and that can cause oil light. What's yeh think?

Ok, I've decided that it would be in my best interest to do a mechanical oil pressure test in four phases. 1) with engine cold check it at idle 2) with engine cold check it at 2000 rpm 3) with engine at operation temperature check oil pressure at idel 4) with engine at operating temp check pressure at 2000 rpm. If the pressure is low, I will drop the pan, check the pick up tube. If that is fine, I will check the crank bearings. I almost couldn't write that without a straight finger. DiscoMike gave me the advice and we will put it into action.

DiscoMike, Need info on engines for my 2000 Land Rover Discovery II. What types can I get? How much? Who is qualified to install these? Rover only? Foreign Car specialist or regular engine mechanic?

You can buy a good guarantyeed used short or long block, as well as a complete engine , either a 4.0 or a 4.6 from people like, http://www.roverlandparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=41 As for who does it, you need to do your homework and go talk to a number of shops and ask questions. What is wrong with your, do you need a short block, long block or a complete block?
