Quick question about the adaptive headlights.

I just bougtht an 05 LR3 SE.  Do all LR3s have adaptive headlights?  I don't notice any difference when driving.  Is there a way to check to see if they are working?

Its not on my 05 LR3SEV8 and its loaded. I didnt know that was an option on the LR3 in 05. But, I do know how it works from my wifes 08 LR2 HSE. The best way to tel is to find a dark resedential neighborhood and make a bunch of left and right turns. If you have it equipped, you will see the headlights follow your turns left or right as you turn the wheel while moving. It is a slight movement but it works.

I have them on my '05 HSE.  The easiest way to tell if you have them is simply to start the truck in the dark.  If you have the adaptive lights they do a dance as they autofocus.  It is pretty obvious in the dark from the inside of the cabin as the beams move up, down and out and in before finally focussing straight ahead.

they dont all have it, and on top of that, if they do, they dont always calibrate, dance, on start up. easy to check though. first of all, if you dont have auto lights or front fog lights, then you dont, you have normal old haligen lights. if you got those things, then pop the hood and look at the top of the light. on the sticker youll see some numbers and letters, find where it says "-NAS" there will be 3 letters infront of that, either HID or AFS. HID is bi-xenon dipped beams, and AFS is adaptive, also bi-xenons though.

Thanks for the replies.

I have auto bi-xenons and front fog lights, but have never seen them calibrate.  I've had to have a few electrical issues fixed under warranty, but the warranty will run out soon.  I'll check the coding and go from there.

Thanks again.

I think adaptive xenons almost always calibrate when you start engine. But unless they're on, you won't see it.

Turns out I have bi-xenons that are not adaptive.  Thanks for the tip about the coding roverguy.
