I just bought a 99 Discovery Series 2, without an owners manual from a dealer who knew nothing about it.

I need a CD cartridge for the factory changer. Do I have to get one from a dealer, or is it the same as an Alpine, Pioneer or other?

How does the rear air assist work? I push the button, and the symbol in cluster flashes, but does not seem to do anything.

Where can I find an electronic version of the manual online?

Search around for a RAVE manual, a manual; plus more all on a CD. They can be found on Ebay. There is also a site that says it can be downloaded for free:

I have never tried the free download so it may or may not work.

Roverlandparts might have a CD cartridge check here:

They come and go as they get them, and they can get a bit expensive, so also keep an eye out on Ebay for that as well.

By air assist I supose you are talking about the SLS button (the button with the pic of the truck and an arrow pointing up) Push it and hold until you hear a beep, then let go, your truck will rise about 2 inches. If you look closely in your mirror you can see it rising, it takes about 30-45 sec., look at the back wheel area before you hit the button and and look after, you can tell it is higer. Its actually guite handy, and a pretty cool feature! Oh yeah, if you go over 20-25 MPH it will lower back down to the normal level.

You will love this truck, since you are in early ownership, you might run into some minor problems early on (that the old owner left behind) . Dont give up on it, rehab it to perfection. You wont be disappointed.

Good luck!

The SLS is designed to activate when all the doors are closed, used only off road and will deactivate at 20MPH for saftey reasons.
If you have any more questions, get back to me, I also have one.
