I think it was Disco Mike that recommended a High Performance coil for the Disco I?? Since this is a pointless distributor does it have to be a specific brand and type of performance coil? Autozone can get me an Accel brand "performance" coil that puts out 45,000v for a reasonable price. Is this OK?

Sure is, as long as you have a new "FACTORY CAP and ROTOR", good wires and plugs.

Got a "Factory Cap & Rotor" OEM Land Rover already installed, and got Magnacor 8mm wires waiting to be installed, so I guess I am good to go. Also got some Bosch +4 plugs.
