Thanks to everyone who is taking a look at this thread. My father has a 1989 RRC, we have had it for a few years now and haven't had any major problems. Recently there has been a problem with the battery holding a change and he has resorted to just disconnecting the positive battery cable whenever the truck is not running. I finally found some time to take a look at it and here is what I have found. When the truck is sitting, no keys in ignition. There is a 6 amp draw from the battery to the electrical system. I went to the fuel station yesterday and shut the truck down for about 2 min while I put fuel in the truck. When I went to start the engine the battery was toast. Once the truck is jumped, everything is fine. Hooking the battery up to the charger shows a good battery and it will charge the battery all the way up and start fine. But if you leave the positive cable connected for more than a few min. your in trouble. Now, I searched the forums and google to no avail. I see that there are issues with the blower fan staying on, the CD changer, and a few other small things but I can't find it on this RRC. I hooked up the ammeter to the system and it showed the 6 amp draw, then I went one by one and pulled the fuses out of the panel and it still pulled 6 amps. How many circuits are there that don't run through the fuse panel in the ****pit? Are there any? I am suspecting the locking system as the issue, when I repainted the truck for him a few years ago I remember the central locking system working but it dosen't seem to be working now. As far as I can tell all of the locks work manually, just not electrically. If anyone has any experence with this please let me know. Thanks in advance, Shawn
