Greetings all. I am new to the Rover Forums but not new to Land Rover vehicles as this is my fourth. I am not sure if I have a bad bulb, dirty socket or bad ignition switch. When I turn on my headlights all of the brake lights come on. When my headlights are off and I depress my brake pedal, the dash and front amber signals illuminate. I have played around with this and can find no reasonable answer. DISCO MIKE??????

I have owned this Rover almost one week and was purchased from Land Rover Newport Beach. I am beginning to see why I am having electrical gremlins. I inspected the car and have evidence that the car was hit rather hard as the rear quarter panel was replaced and the exhaust sytem has a crimp in it. The quarter panel is unpainted on the inside and has no protective undercoating. There are numerous areas of overspray as well. Dealer claims ignorance. The car was not purchased "as-is" as I purchased an extended coverage plan. Do you feel one could make a clear case for a buyback?

Since you have only had it a week, I would say yes. Most states allow up to 30 days or 1000 miles, I dont know about CA, but I would take it back Mon.
If they bought it from acution then I can see why they knew nothing, if they took it in on trade they should have ran a Carfax report and they would have sold it at auction.
If they are the ones who fixed it then they flat out lied to you and they did a sub-par job at the repairs and should be ashamed of the work that they did.

Will depend on the state and county you live in. Some district attorneys state a discloser needs to be included if a vehicle has been wrecked.
Contact your local D.A. office tomorrow and talk with them before you talk with the dealer.

you need to check your brake light bulbs. if you have a single filiment bulb where there should be a duel, youre in effect shorting out your tail lights to your brake lights.if there are 2 contacts in the bottme of the bulb holder, and only one on the bulb, its wrong, replace it with the right bulb and you should be good
